Leroy Rosenior
an ambassador for West Ham,
He really is a top bloke as a coach and his knowledge of the game in Africa is monumental.
Is set to be an Ambassador for our Club,

An excellent choice

Re: Leroy Rosenior
Nice bloke, good footballer and top pundit and kept us up for a season. But he was signed as a stop-gap at the time and the mistake was in then playing him as #1 striker the following season. I'm afraid his partnership with David Kelly was one of the worst I've ever seen. And that's 'worst' not in the 'that was the worst team I've ever seen' comments you get on here every other week. Seems a good decision for Ambassador though.

Re: Leroy Rosenior
He's a great football pundit as well - and so's Steve Claridge...

Both Leroy and Claridge should be on MOTD instead of fucking meathead no-nothing wankers like Shearer...

What people will be surprised to know is that gank is just another pseudonym of Hugh.

He is in fact trolling himself.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood, didn't realise he was working at the club.

Actually, that makes it even more pointless!

What is the point in having a West Ham ambassador over there? Wouldn't a properly-run Soccer School be much more effective? Might even make money.

What the East End where Leroy is going to be working?. Pretty sure we already have an Academy there

"I don't know but it's been told
LEROYS boots are made of gold"

(They don't make 'em like that anymore)

Nowdays of course it would be:

"I don't know but it's been told
LEROYS boots are coloured gold, with little flexs of silver and has his name and number painted on the side"

Just doesnt work anymore!

Re: Leroy Rosenior
by far best memories of him was scoring 2 to keep us up and relegate Chelsea, then get sent off for punching I think it was Steve Clarke

Re: Leroy Rosenior
Wasn't the most prolific striker but he gave us some great memories, particularly during our relegation season in 88/89.

Scoring at Forest after about 20 seconds.

Equaliser before the 5-1 collapse at Anfield.

His goal in our 2-0 win at a rather eerie Hillsborough in the first match after the disaster.

0-1 Arsenal (a) FAC 3RR - '..and Leroy Rosenior has scored', cue mayhem.

I think I've still got that Leroy 7" flexi-vinyl that came with one of the fanzines somewhere.

Leroyyyyyyyyyyy, Leroy...nah nah nah nah nah....leroyyyyyyyyy, Leroy...

I remember him scoring four against wba in the simod cup, think that was more than he got in the rest of the season put together.

Re: Leroy Rosenior
I remember going down to watch West Ham play Portsmouth at Fratton Park, years ago. It was in the days where the away fans were put on that God-forsaken terrace that was open to the elements. It was fuckin freezing and the wind and rain was howling in from the English channel. We played some of the worst football I've ever seen West Ham play, only staying in the games thanks to Ludo pulling off a string of almost impossible saves! I'm thinking at the time that West Ham don't deserve fans like us, when up pops LEROY, right at the death and knocks in the winner! Fuckin get in there!

I'll always be grateful to him even if it was just for that one game!
